Coarse-to-Fine Control Strategy for Matching Motion Stereo Pairs

This a r t i c l e proposes a s l i de r stereo matching method, which employs a coarsetof ine cont ro l strategy to overcome the false targets problem. At f i r s t , a stereo pair is taken at a short basel ine, and a match is assigned to i t . The resulting dispar i t y map is then used to res t r ic t search range and to predict occlusion for e f f i c ien t ly and rel iably matching the succeeding stereo pair taken at a longer baseline. The system i t e ra tes the s l i d i ng and matching to obtain an enough disparity range.
